My Story
Diane Orsini-Tarkman is one of the few Pediatric Occupational Therapy practices to maintain sole ownership with a full, private facility. Becoming interested in occupational therapy during a high school allied health class to explore medical occupations. She was excited and fascinated by the creativity of using occupations to promote healing, health and wellness. She volunteered at Stanford Children’s Hospital and was hooked on helping children.
In college Diane was introduced to Sensory Integration and Dr. A. Jean Ayres’ inspiring work with children who had fear of movement and other sensory processing difficulties. Diane did not skip a beat, upon college graduation, she quickly took on additional training. Developing a keen understanding into sensory integration processing difficulties, visual processing difficulties, the art of therapy and understanding children with autism. As present day techniques and discoveries of the mind evolve, Diane is a proponent of advanced education, training, and methodologies.
Diane volunteers as a coach for Marin General’s Matter of Balance Program and participates in numerous philanthropic activities to aid the health and well-being of children.
